Quincy Regional Airport will benefit from federal funding announced Friday.

Illinois Senators Dick Durbin and Tammy Duckworth announced that Quincy Regional Airport will get a little over a million dollars in Airport Improvement Program money from the Federal Aviation Administration.

Quincy airport officials say the money will be used to reconstruct a runway and acquire an aircraft rescue and firefighting vehicle.

Quincy was one of five regional airports to get over $38-million dollars in funding from the FAA.
