A federal grant gives a financial boost to a program administered by Douglass Community Services.

In a press release, Missouri Congressman Sam Graves announced that Douglass gets a new grant of more than $240,000 to support its Foster Grandparent program.

The money comes from the Corporation for National and Community Service, and will support Foster Grandparent volunteers in Clark, Lewis, Marion, Ralls, Pike and Monroe counties.

Foster Grandparent volunteers provide tutoring, companionship and developmental assistance to dozens of children in northeast Missouri.
