Quincy Power Outage
Ameren officials say an equipment failure around 2:45PM is to blame for a Wednesday afternoon power outage.
Over 65-hundred Ameren customers in Quincy and parts of Adams County were affected. Wires came down just south of the Memorial Bridge on the Quincy riverfront. Front street was blocked off for repair work between Jersey and Hampshire. Power was fully restored by 6:30PM. Many areas saw service restored in 30 to 40 minutes. The equipment failure also caused power interruptions in Ursa and Mendon.
On site generators covered for the outage at Blessing Hospital and other locations including Sycamore Health Care Center. Lights and essential circuits remained on at Sycamore, but elevators were out of service for about 40 minutes until service was restored in that area.
