A penalty helped stymie a promising game opening drive by the Hannibal Pirates against Quincy Notre Dame.

Hannibal took the opening kickoff and moved from their own 34 yard line to the Raiders 13 on 14 plays before coming up short on a fourth down conversion attempt.

QND took the lead with an impressive 15 play, 91 yard drive capped off by Joe McCaughey and Barry Welper...

Two Hannibal fumbles set QND up for a 37 yard field goal and a 28 yard TD pass to extend the lead to 17-0.

Hannibal got on the board with a 13 play, 80 yard drive that ended with 10:35 to play...

Mitch Nichols led Hannibal in rushing with 73 yards on 21 carries. Daylin Anders ran for 72 yards for QND
