The continuing rise in river levels in West Quincy results in the closing of the Quincy Memorial Bridge, effective Wednesday morning.

The Missouri Department of Transportation reports that Memorial Bridge will be closed at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday as river levels continue to rise.

Crews are working to re-route eastbound traffic, creating two-way traffic on the Bayview Bridge.

MODOT and IDOT officials say barrels will divide traffic and signals at Third and Broadway will be reprogrammed for two-way traffic.

Also, the speed limit on the Bayview Bridge will be reduced to 30 miles per hour while Memorial Bridge is closed.

Motorists can expect delays as they travel through the area.
