A Quincy man will stand trial in December for allegedly stealing money from his mother’s checking account.

Probable cause was found in Adams County Circuit Court to hold 44 year old Jason Gerding over on two counts of financial exploitation of the elderly.

Gerding is accused of writing nearly $7,000 worth of checks from his mother’s account while he had her power of attorney between February of 2013 and January of 2014.

A request from Gerding’s mother for her son to have no contact with her while he’s out on bond was granted.
