A Quincy man involved in a traffic crash in Nebraska that resulted in two deaths over the weekend has been arrested and charged in the connection with the crash.

25-year-old Edward Koch was charged in Cass County, Nebraska with motor vehicle homicide, careless driving, DUI, possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Koch is alleged to have rearended a car on U.S. 34 near Elmwood, Nebraska at 7:30 p.m. Sunday. Killed in the crash were 23-year-old Mathew Kirchhoff and 22-year-old Emily Widger, both of Nebraska. The two were to be married next year.

Koch had been treated for injuries at a Lincoln hospital. He was taken into custody after his release. He had been scheduled for a court appearance Tuesday.
