A Thursday afternoon house fire in Quincy has now been ruled incendiary by fire officials.

Firefighters responded to a residential fire at 527 Lind about 4 p.m. Thursday. Officials say the fire started in a first floor room, but that the apartment where the fire started was vacant.

Chief Joe Henning said no cause of the fire was found, but that there was a human element involved in the starting of the fire.

Henning said the investigation has been turned over to the Quincy Police Department.
