Quincy Firefighters Respond to Rupp Rentals Fire Monday

Quincy firefighters were called to Rupp Rental at 3rd and Broadway about 11:30 a.m. Monday.

The resident of the upstairs apartment noticed smoke, called the landlord and then called 911.

No one was hurt, but there was heavy smoke damage to the office. There was no damage to the upstairs apartment.

Firefighters believe an electrical issue started the blaze.

A portion of 3rd Street was shut down for a time while fire crews were on the scene.
