One man and a child are dead following a fire early this morning at 515 South 17th in Quincy.

Investigators say an overloaded electrical junction box in the attic caused an early morning fire that claimed two lives in Quincy. The alarm came in around 2:40 Wednesday morning. Quincy Fire Chief Joe Henning says police were first to arrive and they pulled Haley Houge from a basement window at the southwest corner of the house.

Firefighters searched the house and located 25 year old Daniel S. Dissler and his four month old son Hunter Dissler.  Both were taken to Blessing Hospital where they were pronounced dead.

Investigators will be looking for a cause today.
