This might be one of the craziest endings to a game you’ll ever see.

After a wild game that saw Quincy Unviersity down by as many as 20 points (they only held a lead for a total of 56 seconds), the Hawks rallied against Rockhurst to a score of 75-74. Having caught the final missed free throw by Rockhurst, Hawks senior Evan McGaughey called a timeout with 1.8 seconds left.

Blocked by a 7-foot defender in Gabe Brown, the 6’8” McGaughey gave a courteous heads up to the fans in the first row before rearing back and launching a perfect full-court pass to Joseph Tagarelli, who dribbled once, and drained a 10-footer as time expired. In fact, it was SO close that refs pushed back the court-storming fans and asked for a review of the play. Ten minutes later, they signaled what everyone in Pepsi Arena wanted to hear: Hawks win 76-75.
