A potential strike by Quincy school district employees could result in the cancellation of this year's Quincy High Holiday Basketball Tournament.

Quincy Athletic Development Association members organize and run the tournament. Since 2010, they have provided almost $250,000 toward expenses of the QHS Blue Devil Basketball program including assistant coach salaries at all levels.

Association chair Terry Traeder says "We don't want the Thanksgiving tournament to part of the negotiations. We don't think that's the right thing to do."

If a strike occurs, the first day would be Monday November 20th. The 47th annual tournament starts on November 23rd (Thanksgiving night). Association members say regardless of what happens, they will fund the Blue Devil program this year.
