Probable Cause Found for Gavin to Stand Trial for Attempted Murder
Probable cause was found Friday for a Quincy man to stand trial for attempted murder in connection with an incident that took place last November.
23 year old Nicholas Gavin pleaded not guilty in Adams County Circuit Court to charges of attempted murder and aggravated battery.
Gavin is alleged to have shot 33 year old Robert Phillips last November 28th. Phillips was trying to stop an argument between two other men, one of whom was a friend of Gavin’s.
Phillips survived the shooting. An investigation led to a warrant for Gavin’s arrest January 7th. Gavin was arrested in Bolingbrook, Illinois March 7th.
He is in the Adams County Jail on $1-million dollars bond.
