On 07/18/13, at approximately 0210 hours Quincy Police initiated a traffic stop on a black 1978 Chevrolet for a traffic offense. Preliminary investigation led to a Quincy Police K9 being summoned to the scene. After an alert by the K9, the vehicle was searched. Located inside the vehicle was suspected Methamphetamine, Cannabis, and a loaded firearm.

The driver of the vehicle, Jermie J. Pine was taken into custody along with the passenger James A. Koons. Pine was arrested on charges of Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon, Possession of a Controlled Substance, Possession of Methamphetamine, Possession of Cannabis, and Traffic Offenses.  He was lodged in the Adams County Jail.

His passenger, James Koons was arrested on an outstanding Pike County, Il. warrant for Failure to Appear on a charge of Possession of Cannabis.  He was also lodged in the Adams County Jail.
