According to Pike County Sheriff Stephen Korte, his office was contacted about 7:45 a.m. Monday by a rural Bowling Green resident, who said 35 year old Patrick White told her he had taken her vehicle, slept in her camper overnight, then took the keys of a second car and left.

About 1:30 p.m., deputies learned that White had left Scotty’s Market in Eolia in the stolen car without paying for gas.

Then, around 2 p.m. White was spotted near Business 61 in Bowling Green, where he was pulled over and taken into custody without incident.

About ten minutes later, a structure fire was reported in Bowling Green, and an investigation revealed that White had been living in a camper on the property.

The charges against White include tampering with a motor vehicle, stealing a motor vehicle, first and second degree burglary, arson, attempted arson, driving while suspended, possession of drug paraphernalia and stealing.

White is lodged in the Pike County Sheriff’s Office Detention Center.
