A Pike County man who pleaded guilty to involuntary manslaughter in July is now accused of violating the terms of his probation.

John Edgar had been charged with drug-induced homicide in the connection with the death of 47 year old Shanda Lopez of Milton in 2012. Edgar allegedly sold heroin to Lopez, who later overdosed and died.

Edgar had been sentenced to probation and restitution. Authorities say that since then he has gotten a speeding ticket, admitted he drank alcohol and failed to meet with counselors and to follow doctors’ recommendations.

This is the case in which felony misconduct charges were filed against Pike County Sheriff Paul Petty in his role as Coroner.
