Pike County, Illinois has become the latest area hot spot for COVID-19.

Health department officials Thursday reported 27 new lab confirmed cases of coronavirus, 17 females age 10 to 90s and ten males age 20s to 80s.

Officials say that Pike County’s active cases include outbreaks at three long term care facilities, including Liberty Village and Eastside Health and Rehabilitation Center in Pittsfield and the Community Care Center in Barry, the Kepley House facility for the developmentally disabled in Pittsfield, one school district and one large gathering.

The new cases bring the Pike County COVID total to 327, with 163 active, 12 hospitalizations and four deaths.

There have been 93 new cases of coronavirus in Pike County, Illinois since Monday.
