A Hannibal man is arrested as the result of an altercation at a local restaurant Sunday afternoon.

Hannibal Police were called to Hardee’s on James Road at 3:38 p.m. Sunday on a report of an assault.

HPD reports that a male subject was verbally abusive to both employees and patrons of the business, leading to a physical altercation between the male and Hardee’s employees.

The fight resulted in serious injuries to the man, who was taken to Hannibal Regional Hospital and later transferred to Blessing Hospital for treatment.

Police took 33 year old Damien Fugate into custody for assault. He was taken to the Marion County Jail on a 24-hour hold.
