One Hurt, One Ticketed in Brown County Car-Tractor Crash

A passenger is hurt and one of the drivers is ticketed in a car versus tractor crash on Illinois 99 in Brown County 4:45 p.m. Friday.

The Illinois State Police reports 56 year old Barbara Childers of Versailles was northbound on her tractor when she was rear ended by a northbound car driven by 24 year old Enrique Tellez of Versailles. Police report Tellez was distracted by his cell phone prior to the crash.

A passenger in the Tellez car, 20 year old Cullie McCurdy of Rushville, was taken to Passavant Hospital in Jacksonville for treatment of minor injuries.

Tellez was ticketed for failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident and using an electronic device while driving.
