A Michigan man escapes with minor injuries in a one car crash on Illinois Highway 100 in Pike County at 1:58 a.m. Monday.

The State Police report 80 year old William Westenbarger of Westland, Michigan was southbound when he failed to navigate a right turn.

Westenbarger’s car ran off the road, went down an embankment and struck a utility pole, partially blocking the roadway.

Westerbarger was taken to Illini Community Hospital in Pittsfield for treatment of minor injuries.

Westerbarger was ticketed for failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident.
