A Calhoun County man is in the Pike County, Illinois Jail on criminal defacement charges.

Pike County Sheriff David Greenwood reports police in Pleasant Hill and Pittsfield received several reports of graffiti painted on businesses in the two towns.

An investigation revealed similar incidents in Calhoun County.

On March 25th, 64 year old William Friedel of Hamburg, Illinois was arrested at Lambert Airport in St. Louis on a Calhoun County warrant.

Friedel faces five counts of criminal defacement of property in Pike County.

The incidents are still under investigation and additional charges are pending.
