One Dead Following Quincy Hotel Fire[updated]

Illinois State Fire Marshal’s office investigators and Quincy Police are looking for the cause of a fire early New Year’s morning.
Quincy firefighters were called to the fourth floor of the Hotel Elkton shortly after 1:30 a-m. Authorities say a female is dead following the fire. Adams County Coroner Jim Keller identifies the woman as 50 year old Laura Tournear. She was found in a hallway. Two others on the fourth floor were rescued.

A fire on December 12^th 2014 also damaged the Hotel Elkton. That fire was ruled accidental although fire officials were not able to determine an exact cause.
