No Injuries Reported Following Gas Line Explosion Near Mexico MO
A gas line explosion early Sunday morning results in the closure of Missouri 15 just south of the Davis Creek Bridge.
The explosion occurred around 3:30 a-m. Gas flow through the Panhandle Eastern pipeline was cut and Audrain County Sheriff's deputies say it took about 40 minutes for the fire to burn the remaining gas and burn itself out. No information is available at this time on the cause of the pipeline rupture. Missouri Department of transportation officials say a bridge near the blast will be inspected and the road will also be checked to establish that it is in good condition. The highway is expected to be closed in that area just north of Mexico for a few days.
