(QUINCY)—What’s left of the Newcomb Hotel is coming down today. (SUN) Quincy Director of Planning and Development Chuck Bevelheimer says the structure is unsafe. He also cites the need to allow Fourth Street and nearby businesses to re-open.

Quincy Fire Chief Joe Henning says a cause of the fire won’t be known for several days but that the lack of electricity to the building effectively rules out the possibility of an accidental fire.

No injuries are reported.
