New Highway Patrol Commanding Officer Has Hannibal Roots
The Missouri Highway Patrol has announced the promotion of Lieutenant Erik Gottman to the rank of captain and designated commanding officer of Troop B headquartered in Macon.
Gottman graduated from Hannibal High School and Hannibal LaGrange University. He joined the Missouri State Water Patrol in 1995, where he attained the ranks of corporal, sergeant, and lieutenant. After the Water Patrol merged with the Highway Patrol in 2011, Gottman was assigned to Troop B in Macon. In 2019, Gottman completed the Police Leadership West Point Model Instructor Academy and also graduated from the FBI National Academy.
Troop B officers serve the public in 16 counties of Northeast Missouri.
