An early Tuesday morning house fire appears to have been deliberately set.

Hannibal fire crews were called to 711 Walnut just after 1 a.m. Tuesday.
Firefighters found heavy smoke and flames coming from the home.

The blaze was under control in about 20 minutes.

The structure was unoccupied and the gas and electric had been shut off.

The home is a total loss. No one was hurt.

After an investigation, the cause of the fire was determined to be incendiary.
