The Missouri State Highway Patrol is asking for the public’s help in locating a red minivan that was indirectly involved in a fatal traffic crash in Boone County last week.

The crash took place Friday on Highway 63 west of Hallsville and north of Columbia.

21 year old Kimberly Schumann of Jacksonville, Missouri was southbound on 63 when she swerved to avoid the minivan that had turned into her path. Schumann’s vehicle crossed the median and was struck by a northbound vehicle, killing Schumann.

The minivan driver stopped briefly and then drove away.

The minivan is described as a cherry red, newer model, driven by a male with some gray hair.

If you have information about the whereabouts of the minivan, you’re asked to call Highway Patrol Troop F Headquarters in Jefferson City at 573-751-1000.
