River levels on the Mississippi are on the way up again.
The forecast from the National Weather Service Hydrologic Prediction Service says the Mississippi at Hannibal will continue to rise from this morning’s reading of 14.6 feet. Current forecast calls for a crest at 17.1 feet next Saturday…a foot above technical flood stage. A steady fall is currently forecast to follow. The Mississippi at Quincy is expected to rise to 15.8 feet by next weekend. Rises of two to three feet are expected over the next week between Canton and Clarksville.
