Matthews Sentencing Continued Wednesday

The sentencing of a Hannibal man who had been convicted of charges in connection with a 2016 shooting incident was continued Wednesday in Adams County Circuit Court.

46 year old Euron Matthews had filed a number of motions, including motions to represent himself, to have the charges against him dismissed, and claimed ineffective assistance of counsel.

Matthews is charged with being an armed habitual criminal and aggravated discharge of a firearm.

He is alleged to have fire a handgun at a car in the 500 block of Lind on November 12th, 2016.

A jury took less than 20 minutes to find Matthews guilty in July.

Matthews is scheduled to be back in court September 6th. He remains in the Adams County Jail.
