A Quincy man who pleaded guilty earlier this year to setting the fire that destroyed the Newcomb Hotel is in more trouble.

25 year old Mathew Clark was arrested Wednesday in connection with a series thefts, burglaries and arsons in Adams and Pike County.

The arrest follows an investigation by the Adams and Pike County Sheriff’s offices.

Clark is alleged to have stolen a delivery truck, a forklift and other items from County Market on Broadway in Quincy August 6th, a front end loader and other items were stolen from AgCo in Quincy on the 9th. And, a truck belonging to Transitions was stolen on the 11th.

The County Market truck and the front-end loader were found in the Fall Creek area. The Transitions truck was found in Pike County after it had been set on fire.

Clark is lodged in the Adams County Jail on $1 million dollars bond.
