The Marion County Commissioners have set their transportation priorities for 2018.

At their regular meeting Monday, the commissioners approved their revised list of Marion County transportation needs.

As has been the case for several years, at the top of the list is a U.S. 61 bypass around Hannibal.

Also on the list are upgrades to the U.S.61/U.S. 24 corridor through Palmyra, installation of shoulders along Highway 168, improved lighting along Veterans’ Road and at the 36/Business 36 intersection at Monroe City, along with the widening of the railroad underpass on Route E west of Palmyra.

The list goes to a regional transportation advisory committee and then on to the Missouri Department of Transportation.
