Widespread Wind Damage Event Possible in Missouri Overnight

Since this is Missouri weather we're talking about, everything is changeable. However, you need to know that it's entirely possible and perhaps even likely that much of Missouri could be impacted by a major widespread wind damage event overnight from Tuesday into Wednesday morning.

There will be several rounds of storm then calm then storms again Tuesday into Wednesday especially in the northern half of Missouri as the National Weather Service forecast out of St. Louis says. It's during the overnight hours that there is the most concern though. Here's the official word from the weather story shared by the NWS today.

Midnight to 6am is the most dangerous time and that could include winds of 60 mph or greater. It's the "or greater" part that's concerning. I decided to share this possibility especially considering the fact that most weather radios in northeast Missouri are suffering an outage as of this writing.

My point is you need to go to bed tonight with an understanding that severe weather and especially wind damage is a possibility. There's hope that the developing storms will lose some of their strength as they move from the northwest to the southeast overnight. But, they will likely still be strong.

Just a heads up that weather late tonight into Wednesday could be interesting in Missouri and also parts of west-central Illinois.
