Electric linemen from a couple of area cooperatives are headed south to help get the lights back on in the aftermath of Hurricane Irma.

Adams Electric Cooperative of Camp Point sent eight line crew members to Georgia Saturday to help prepare for storm damage. Adams crewmen will assist Snapping Shoals EMC in Covington, Georgia.

Meanwhile, linemen from Ralls County Electric Cooperative are among the 146 linemen from 26 different Missouri electric coops also headed for the southeast.

The Missouri crews are helping cooperatives in Reynolds, Georgia, Douglasville, Georgia and Sumterville, Florida.
