Karen Torres Pleads Not Guilty in Daughter’s Death

A Quincy woman pleads not guilty Wednesday to charges resulting from the death of her seven year old daughter.

30 year old Karen Torres is charged with obstruction of justice in the shooting death of Melina Torres May 20th during a family gathering near Beverly.

Melina Torres’ uncle and grandmother have pleaded guilty to charges in connection with the case.

A fourth person, 30 year old Shannon Combes of Quincy has pleaded not guilty to possession of a weapon by a felon. His trial is scheduled to start next week.

Karen Torres’ jury trial is set for February.
