Jil Tracy Will Not Run for Schock’s Congressional Seat
A former Quincy state representative announces she will not seek to replace Aaron Schock in Congress.
Jil Tracy announced Monday she would not seek the Republican nomination for the 18th District congressional seat being vacated by Schock.
Tracy cited family obligations and mounting a campaign in a short period of time as the reasons for not running.
Governor Bruce Rauner has yet to announce when a special election for Schock’s seat will take place.
So far, Peoria State Representative Darin LaHood and Bloomington attorney Mark Zalcman have announced their intention to run for the vacant seat.
