Tracy, Frese Credit Constituents with Withdrawal of Gov’s Rules

Area legislators credit an outpouring of citizen opposition for the withdrawal of Illinois Governor J.B. Pritzker’s latest emergency order.

State Senator Jil Tracy of Quincy and State Representative Randy Frese of Paloma thanked concerned citizens for making their voices heard.

The governor’s order would have made it a misdemeanor for any business to defy his order to remain closed in accordance with Pritzker’s Stay at Home order.

Republican House and Senate leaders had called the new rules a vast government overreach.

The Joint Committee on Administrative Rules was to have taken action on the rules Wednesday, but Pritzker withdrew the rules before the meeting took place.
