A couple of officers at the Eau Claire, Wisconsin police department deserve a big round of applause for their acting abilities! They were able to help pull off a surprise proposal and it was all caught on video thanks to their body cam footage.

This happened the other weekend. Based on the video (which I got thanks to the Eau Claire Police Department Facebook) it sounds like the couple was just visiting the area because a hotel is mentioned.

The couple was all dressed up and ready to go out somewhere when they got "pulled over". Of course, the cops and the guy, Troy, knew it was all set up but the girlfriend, Moriah, had no idea.

At the start of the video, we pick up at the point when the officers are in their squad car with Troy's license. They get out, go back to the car, and pretend that there's something wrong with the license and he needs to step out of the car.

The male officer walks Troy over to an area and you can hear the officer say quietly "You all set?".

At this point, the female officer goes to get Moriah. She says that they want her to step out of the car too, so she does and follows the officer. Conveniently she's led to the area close to her soon-to-be fiance.

The female officer is explaining some made-up story about how they're just checking further on his license and it'll just be a minute and then, all of a sudden, Moriah turns around and Troy is on one knee.

It's so cute and I just love that the officers did so well playing into it! Check it out.

Troy commented on the Eau Claire PD's Facebook post with the video and said:

Thank you so much, ECPD! I'm glad you had the video because I barely remember what I said. Neither Moriah and I have been able to stop smiling!
