MIZ-ZOU...okay I might be biased cause I am a University of Missouri-Columbia fan, but there is just something about that town that I love. The atmosphere, the food, the events, and yes the school, it really is a fun place to visit and I am sure a fun place to live. A new study done by 24/7 Wallst thinks so too and puts Columbia as one of the top 20 cities growing in the nation.

To determine the fastest growing large cities, 24/7 Wall St. reviewed population data from the U.S. Census Bureau’s 2021 American Community Survey one-year estimates. We listed all 20 metropolitan statistical areas with at least 15% population growth from 2016 to 2021. We added seasonally-adjusted December employment figures – used to calculate employment growth from 2016 to 2021 – from the Bureau of Labor Statistics.

Since 2016 the population has grown over 20%, employment has grown 1.1%, and the unemployment rate is the lowest out of 381 cities. Not bad for a city with over 200,000 people and that's without the university in session. I would also like to know how many students who graduate from MIZZOU stay in Columbia because they find work and love the city.

Yes, I am sure that there are parts of Columbia that you don't want to go to after dark, but in this case, I really do think the good outweighs the bad, and if I ever get a chance maybe just maybe I would move there.
