2 Iowa Cities Have Been Named The Most Peaceful in The U.S.
"Is this heaven? No, it's Iowa"
Missouri and Illinois didn't even make the list once, but Iowa not only has one but two towns voted the most peaceful in the U.S. When it comes to living in a peaceful town I would think that both Quincy, Hannibal, Palmyra, and Canton should make this list but none did. However, Des Moines and Ceder Rapids Iowa both made it. According to moneyinc.com two of the top 20 most peaceful places to live.
Des Moines, Iowa
Moneyinc says about Des Moines:
When all you’re concerned about is noise, then Des Moines Iowa may be what the doctor ordered. This is a great city if you’re into outdoor activities, starting a business, or simply want to live in a place with good people. People enjoy spending time at Exile Brewing, Gray’s Lake Park and the Pappajohn Sculpture Park.
I really need to play a trip to Des Moines it sounds like so much fun and that has one of the best food festivals in the world.
Cedar Rapids, Iowa
Another Iowa town that I have never been to, but if you're looking for a little peace and quiet then this is the place to be.
Ranked at 26 in Business Insiders list of happiest cities, residents can take advantage not only of low housing costs, but also attractions such as the Czech Village/New Bohemia District, the Cedar Rapids Museum of Art, or the Indian Creek Nature Center.
So, if you're looking for a quiet vacation spot or a weekend away with not a lot of loud noises you might want to put one or both of these cities on your list.
