Does Your Illinois Destination Have Bed Bugs? See Recent Reports
How much confidence do you have that the place you've decided to stay at in Illinois does not have bed bugs? There is an easy way to check and you deserve to know there are many in the Land of Lincoln which have very recent reports.
The Illinois section of the website Bed Bug Reports collects data on what visitors are experiencing at hotels and motels they stay at. You can choose from almost any city in Illinois and it will show you the motels/hotels there and reveal if any have recent or past bed bug reports.
I won't call out any specific places, but you can see details through the links of some very recent bed bug reports. Here are a few examples. This report from late June involved a stop in Quincy, Illinois:
"Bed bugs found in both beds by pulling back fitted sheet. Bugs were on top of mattress pad. Management was not surprised. They asked for a picture and refunded my money. 6/28/2024 8:30pm..."
Here's one from July 28, 2024 from a place in Jacksonville, Illinois:
"Stayed Saturday July 27. Upon check in at around 6pm while checking over the room a bed bug was found in the seam of the mattress. I immediately took the bug to staff. They moved us to a new room. When we returned to the room that night I still felt uneasy and we decided to check out at 2 am instead and drive home."
Here's another from Joliet, Illinois in early July:
"7/2/24 was the date of stay. Found 2 bed bugs, one in every bed."
There are also numerous recent bed bug reports from Chicago that you can check out if you're curious.
