A high speed chase in Shelby County results in the arrest of a Detroit, Michigan man early Monday morning.

Sunday night, Shelbina Police were alerted to an eastbound car on Highway 36 traveling at speeds in excess of 100 miles per hour.

Attempts to stop the car by Shelbina Police and Highway Patrol troopers were unsuccessful.

The man exited 36 onto Highway 15 northbound. He stopped and left his car at the Shelbina Lake boat ramp, fleeing on foot.

A search by Shelbina and Ralls County K-9 units and the Highway Patrol Aircraft Division resulted in the arrest of 25 year old Hisham Mansoor just before 4 a.m. Monday.

Mansoor is charged with second degree assault special victim, property damage, leaving the scene of an accident, resisting arrest and speeding.

Mansoor is in custody in Shelby County on a 24-hour hold.

The incident is still under investigation and additional charges are pending.
