Hannibal Woman Charged After Fleeing in Quincy

A Hannibal woman is held in the Adams County Jail after her car ran off North 12th shortly before 6 pm Wednesday.
Quincy Police say a car driven by 32-year-old Katie Mickels of Hannibal was southbound in the northbound lane of North 12th near Cedar when she drove onto the sidewalk and hit a street sign at Berrian Park. After trying to get the car off the sign and sidewalk, Mickels fled on foot. Quincy Police received several calls about a female matching Mickels description attempting to gain entry to residences. Police were called to a residence in the 1400 block of North 15th where the victim said an unknown female entered the residence and battered her. Police located a female matching Mickels description at 8:45 in the 15th and Locust area. She was taken into custody after a brief foot pursuit and is held in the Adams County Jail on charges of home invasion, possession of methamphetamine, resisting a peace officer and leaving the scene of an accident.
