Hannibal Regional Hospital plays host to a Heart Health Fair Friday, February 28.

In the United States, there are more deaths related to heart disease than any other disorder, for both men and women. That is also the case in the state of Missouri, with more than 15,000 heart-related deaths annually.

Risk factors for heart disease fall into two categories. There are things we can't change, like genetics. Then, there are things we do have control over, such as blood pressure, weight, exercise and tobacco use.

HRH's Heart Health Fair is free, and runs from 8 a.m. till noon. A number of health screenings will be available. Registration for the screenings is required. You can do that by calling 573-406-1639.

The fair will also feature heart health information, heart healthy cooking demonstrations and fitness tips.
