A couple of rainy days at the end of the month made March a wetter than average month in Hannibal.

Weather stats from the official reporting station at the Filter Plant show that 4.98 inches of rain fell last month, about an inch-and-three quarters better than average.

Most of that precipitation came on the 29th and 30th, with nearly three inches of rain falling on those two days.

This is first time since last August that total monthly rainfall exceeded the average.

After recording record high temperatures in February, we tied a record low in March, with the thermometer dropping to 13 degrees on the 15th, tying the record set in 1949.

The high temp only exceeded 70 degrees twice in March, reaching 75 on the 24th and 74 on the 20th.
