A Hannibal man was cited for a number of drug and traffic related charges Tuesday morning.

Hannibal ACES and Patrol officers tried to stop a vehicle traveling south on Highway 61 at 8:13 a.m. Tuesday.

There was a brief car chase and then a foot pursuit.

The driver of the vehicle, 33 year old Jeffrey Anderson, was taken into custody without incident.

Anderson’s vehicle was towed to police headquarters where a search warrant was served. The search resulted in a large amount of what is believed to be marijuana was seized.

Anderson was placed on a 24-hour hold for resisting arrest, distribution and possession of a controlled substance.

He was cited for driving while revoked, failing to yield to an emergency vehicle, failing to stop at a stop sign and failing to yield the right-of-way to oncoming traffic.

Bond was set at $50,000 case or surety. Anderson posted bond and was released.
