Hannibal Man Cited for Drug, Traffic Violations
A Hannibal man was cited for a number of drug and traffic related charges Tuesday morning.
Hannibal ACES and Patrol officers tried to stop a vehicle traveling south on Highway 61 at 8:13 a.m. Tuesday.
There was a brief car chase and then a foot pursuit.
The driver of the vehicle, 33 year old Jeffrey Anderson, was taken into custody without incident.
Anderson’s vehicle was towed to police headquarters where a search warrant was served. The search resulted in a large amount of what is believed to be marijuana was seized.
Anderson was placed on a 24-hour hold for resisting arrest, distribution and possession of a controlled substance.
He was cited for driving while revoked, failing to yield to an emergency vehicle, failing to stop at a stop sign and failing to yield the right-of-way to oncoming traffic.
A warrant was issued for distributing a controlled substance.
Bond was set at $50,000 case or surety. Anderson posted bond and was released.
