A Hannibal man is charged in connection with a stabbing incident over the weekend.

Hannibal Police officers responded to a report of an assault in the 200 block of South 6th Street Sunday night.

Officers arrived to find an adult male stabbing victim, and took 27 year old Richard Reed into custody.

Warrants were issued Monday by the 10th Judicial Circuit Court, charging Reed with first degree assault, armed criminal action and possession of methamphetamine.

The 36 year old victim was taken to Hannibal Regional Hospital for treatment of what appeared to be non-life threatening injuries.

Reed is in the Marion County Jail on $100,000 cash only bond.
