A Hannibal man is in custody in connection with an alleged stabbing incident early Wednesday morning.

Hannibal Police were called to the 1200 block of 36th Street on a report of an assault just after 1 a.m. Wednesday.

Officers arrived and learned that a 36 year old Hannibal man had been stabbed.

A suspect in the case, 61 year old Roy Darnell, had fled the scene. He was taken into custody a short time later.

Darnell has been charged with second degree assault, armed criminal action and unlawful use of a weapon.

Darnell is in the Marion County Jail on $50,000 cash only bond.

The victim was treated for his injuries.
