A Hannibal man faces several charges after Hannibal Police say his car struck a bicyclist late Monday afternoon.
As police arrived at the scene, the car driver, 24-year-old Dakota Kuntz, fled the scene in a vehicle. Kuntz was stopped following a short pursuit. Kuntz was arrested for driving while intoxicated, leaving the scene of an accident involving injury, second degree assault, possession of methamphetamine, failure to yield, failure to keep on the right half of the road and resisting arrest. Police say Kuntz was taken to the Marion County Jail on a 24-hour hold. The bicyclist was taken to Blessing Hospital in Quincy for treatment.
