Hannibal Man Arrested After Fight, Shooting Friday

A Hannibal man is in custody in connection with a shooting incident Friday afternoon.

Hannibal Police responded to a report of a fight in progress between two males in the Maple and Church Street area at 1:47 p.m. Friday.

Officers arrived to find one of the males with a gunshot wound to the upper torso while the second man had fled the scene in a vehicle.

A few minutes later, officers located the vehicle and the suspect, 41 year old Lamarr Minor, who was taken into custody without incident.

Minor was taken to the Marion County Jail on a 24-hour hold for first degree assault.

UPDATE FROM HANNIBAL POLICE:

The victim in the shooting has been transported to Blessing Hospital in Quincy IL in stable condition. Upon further investigation, officers located a handgun that was discarded by the suspect during his attempt to flee the area.
