HANNIBAL -- Hannibal councilmen offered few objections to the Board of Public Works' proposed rate increases for the coming fiscal year.
BPW General Manager Bob Stevenson presented an overview of the utility's fiscal 2013 budget during Tuesday's City Council meeting.
The budget calls for a 3 percent electric rate increase for residential customers only, an 8 percent across-the-board increase for sewer and a 10 percent increase for water.
The three rate hikes combined would add $10 to the average household's monthly utility bill when the new fiscal year begins July 1.
